Street Paving & Closures for 9/28 & 9/29

Posted on September 25, 2020

Street Paving

Due to street paving, we recommend avoiding Dwight Street, Fron Street, and Heritage Street on Monday and Tuesday (9/28 & 9/29).

Please note that Front Street will be fully closed on Monday, September 28. John, Hampden, & Oliver streets will be open to local traffic only, drivers will need to use connecting alleys to get between these streets. No trucks and no access to Front Street will be allowed. Access to the parking garage will be from the uphill side of Dwight Street only. Please expect delays getting into and out of the Dwight Street Garage.

Dwight Street Downhill paving will also begin on Monday. We recommend City Hall Employees and all who use the City Hall parking deck to use the Suffolks Street Garage.

Please note that Dwight Street might be closed if safety officials deem it necessary.

On Tuesday, September 29, Heritage Street will be fully closed. Parking will be allowed on the upper deck of the Suffolk Street garage.

Dwight Street uphill paving will also begin and access to the Dwight Street Parking garage will be from Front Street only. Access to the City Hall parking deck should be possible but please expect delays getting into and out of the deck. Parking elsewhere for the day is recommended.

It is likely that Dwight St traffic will be allowed in only one direction only but that call and the direction of travel will be decided by the onsite public safety officials.

Please keep in mind that If there is a high likelihood of rain on Monday or Tuesday, please expect that this schedule will be pushed back as needed
