Meeting called to order at 5:01 by Sue Ellen.

 

Minutes accepted from February 2.

 

Jennifer Howard director of land protection for DCR, was introduced by Marlene to speak to the group regarding their direct ownership of nearby property and CR they hold on other property.

 

Property owned:

-Mt Tom State Reservation

-144 acres on ridge

-Strip of land at base of Mt Park access road and RT 5

 

Ownership of Conservation Restrictions:

-Trustees Property

-Boys and Girls Club Property

 

The conservation restrictions are protected by Article 97 of The Mass Constitution and require ⅔ vote of Mass legislature to be dispersed of

 

Jennifer stated the WSR does not have a CR in place but may not need one.  It already has water restriction in place to ensure its stand-by status going forward.  The property is being maintained for its almost instant start-up.

 

City councilor Mike Sullivan reached out and said anything he can do to help just ask.  He has been reading our  minutes.

 

We discussed content of sample “Letter to Abutters”:

-add we are “advisory status only”

-ask if they wish to talk to group, email, or one on one.

Harry will contact Eric Suher to join meeting.

 

 

 

March 15 Meeting:

Invite the conservation partners to join meeting. (DCR, Trustees of Reservation, US Fish and Wildlife, Mass Fish and Wildlife)

 

April 6 Meeting invite Wyckoff to meeting
